Best Theme Parks Neer to London Dickens World (31 miles from London)
Leviathan Way, Chatham Maritime, Kent, ME4 4LL

Dickens World is an exciting indoor attraction where you can learn all about the life, books and times of the famous author Charles Dickens. It will take you on a fun journey through Dickens lifetime as you step back into the streets, sounds and smells of the 19th century.

The attractions include:

Dotheboy's Hall - The young Nicholas Nickleby in Dicken's story was forced by his Uncle Ralph to become the assistant to the Principle of Dotheboy's Hall, a very miserable and abusive school, where the time table involved chores rather than books. At Dickens World, visitors can expect to find a real Victorian School Master and experience a typical Victorian lesson.

The Haunted Man - This area of Dickens World looks dark and sinister, inside it features some of the most creepy and memorable characters that Charles Dickens wrote about.

Great Expectations Boat Ride - The boat ride represents the story of Magwitch's escape from the prison ship in Great Expectations, as he travels through the dark, dank sewers of London and then up to the city rooftops.

The Britannia Theatre - The real-life Britannia Theatre was located at 115/117 Hoxton, London between 1841 and 1900, and Charles Dickens was a frequent visitor there. At Dickens World, visitors can expect a re-created theatre, where there is an animatronics show featuring characters such as Mr Pickwick and Samuel Weller.

Peggotty's Boathouse - Peggotty's Boathouse is modelled on Daniel Peggotty's fisherman's home in David Copperfield. Daniel is the kind-hearted brother of Clara Peggotty, David's old nurse. At Dickens World, Peggotty's Boathouse is a 4D cinema show, telling visitors about Dickens' travels throughout Europe and America.
